Expected results

The project will result in both processes and products.

The processes will be:
1. A face-to-face team meeting, to plan and organise the tracking of pupils’ reading and writing in classes in the team members' countries;
2. Planning and holding a central workshop to trial, supplement and consider how the material may be adapted to include a range of languages, and to initiate a process for this adaptation;
3. Planning and holding a regional workshop to train teachers/teacher trainers in the use of the material;
4. A face-to-face team meeting to sum up the experiences of the national events and to put together the adjusted material.

The products will be:
1. A tool for teachers to use to judge whether a reader is able to read a given text;
2. Data which will provide the basis for a set of general descriptors of texts, illustrated with benchmarks, representing a range of levels/sublevels for YL reading on the CEFR;
3. Data which will provide the basis for a set of general descriptors of writing, illustrated with benchmark written products, representing a range of levels/sublevels for YL writing on the CEFR;
3. Web-based presentations and documentation of products, processes and outcomes;
4. Final report on recommendations and strategies for further dissemination.
